Brake pad wear light

Is it correct that after fitting new brake pads and wear sensors you extinguish the dash light by turning ignition on and off a few times?.

Whats happened is you have been charged by the stealer and they have put your old pads back in! Laughing SVR 2018 in Santorini Black.
