hello all, i am new to this forum although not a new owner of a RRS!

I have been having trouble with multiple errors coming up when starting from cold, brake light faults, transmission faults etc - these errors flash on dashboard particularly when pulling away on cold mornings when the engine is cold (ie increased revs). After a couple of minutes they disappear. The car has been back to an Indy numerous times and had faults cleared and checked and there doesn't actually seem to be any problem. I am assuming the battery has had it so have ordered another.
My question is two fold really, does the above sound like a battery problem and secondly how easy is it to replace? I have heard of lots of stories of people getting locked out, and numerous other problems once new battery is fitted. I seem to remember seeing a 'How to' on changing the battery on a RRS but now i can't seem to find it - is there one available or could anyone guide me thorugh how to do it or is best left to garage?

Edited to say the car is 2007 TDV6!

Spurious error messages are a feature of battery failures. Also of alternator problems too.

I changed the battery on my car myself. 5 minute job and no issues afterwards.

Be aware though that the battery is pretty heavy and it's a relatively high lift to get it over the wing and into the locating box in the engine bay.

Also make sure you get the correct battery. The diesels use a larger battery than the petrol models. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Many thanks - is there a specific procedure to replace the battery or simply disconnect, and then reconnect new battery - i seem to remember reading you needed to disconnect battery within 10 seconds or the car blows up - or something like that !!

sorry to be a pain on this but is there a 'How to' on changing the battery on a RRS? I am not concerned about the physical changing of the battery, more whether or not there are things i need to do in order to avoid any electrical problems, code issues, once the new battery is installed? Some have mentioned lock to lock with steering wheel and was just wondering if there was a full guide anywhwere on the forum as I can't seem to find it.

With mine I just removed the leads from the old battery, replaced the battery and reconnected the leads. Nothing else needed to be done.
