can't find anything in the search to say whether it's safe to drive or not ?? anyone any idea or should I get it recovered ? I did drive it today and the compressor sound came on when I first started the car not every time but lasted about 1 minute then went off again... |

I did the same a couple of weeks ago - sounds as if the compressor is all OK and working as it should - the air compressor is just topping up the air tank and will most often do it for a while on start up . The reason you can here it is because it is most likely the mount is damaged and the insulation cracked - should be OK to drive but it need to be checked and fixed quickly.

The compressor is attached to the car by an alloy bracket which almost always snaps under the weight of the car if used as a jacking point.
