I would insist on Trinity fitting your new wheels/tyres - speak to Bill i'm sure he'll arrange it. You have just spent a fortune. Anyway its very -very- very- important that they fit them inorder to make sure they are correctly alligned/balanced not just singularly but a true 4x4 wheel alignment is a must. & balanced on the car itself.

The wheels came balanced, but it may be worthwhile getting them all checked over.

The thing is, it drives straight and true, without vibration. It's just that it's incredibly firm.

This says to me that it's not a balancing/alignment issue, just that without DR the suspension doesn't make any adjustments as it drives. It's just one firmness all the time and has less pneumatic damping from lower profile tyres!

I mentioned to Bill that I'd got the stormer wheels for it and he suggested that the workshop swap them over.
I've not heard of balancing the wheels on the cars for years. I remember when I was a kid, my dad had his wheels balanced on the car (by my grandad, as it happens) because in those days the brakes, hubs and driveshaft were not that accurately made, so balancing on the car balanced the whole drivetrain. Is it still possible to get it done?

Bob. RRS 4.2 S/C. Zermatt. Tints. Stormers. 150+ paint defects, wonkey bonnet, scratches, detached doorseal. suspension faults. To sum it up, a ï¿½60k pile of cr4p!

A friend of mine is a tyre fitter i had new tyres fitted to my 320d he re balanced tham and my friends M3 tyres RRS TDV6 Gone but still around
