Un professional dicks!! And they wonder why police don't get respect. So ok, the old boy wasn't wearing a belt but jumping all over his car! Shocked

On top of that they reckon the total bill came to a hundred grand! Yeah of our money. No wonder this country is in such a state.

I see both sides of this...... Are we being told the whole story tho? easy to blame the old bill as most of us do. I thought the old boy had driven over a bobbies foot, either way.... If you have a police car with his sirens and blue lights flashing surely you should stop.

As far as I can see there isn't really two sides to this story.

Yes. I understand the old fella drove over the dick heads foot but what the police done to follow that up was plain outrageous!

And ok. He didn't pull over. But the police was hardly up his arse in hot persuite, and he was hardly being a threat to other road users.

And you know the old saying. Two wrongs don't make a right.

Ello ello ello!! What's goin on ere then!?? Well officer! This man stood on my foot earlier! so I followed him home with a couple of my bully mate's and we kicked the windows in on his house while shouting and physically Censored the life out of him.

If the boot was on the other foot ah!?

This sort of thing boils my blood!!! Especially when people stick up for the police in a situation like this.

And someone said coz the old boy got a big arse lawyer he got away with it. Lol. Cmon!! You don't need to be a big arse lawyer to see this was totally over the top. These two low lifes are the kind of people that get a job as a copper coz they love the power and love to bully people. If they wasn't in the police force they would more than likely be inside for beating there wifes!

Thread removed as, well it's just not worth trying to put forward a reasoned explanation.

It's funny how only the blinkered police can try and justify it, the cop never even tried the door handle, just went smashing in.

So because you have money, a big house, a new etc we are supposed to respect you?
My opinion of the police comes from my own dealings with them, the worst of all have to be the gods/traffic cops, all the ones I've had dealings with were arrogant as hell.

You obviously missed my point. Im not trying to inflame things and you are entitled to your own opinion so I have removed my previous thread.

This is a great forum with lots of good RRS related issues so in future I will learn to keep the two things separate. Thumbs Up

There is good and bad in every job so I do not tar everyone with the same brush Bow down

As someone who nearly joined the police in the 80's I am now glad I didn't when I see the sort of abuse they get and I would have been on the front line in the miners strike. I have also known a few socially and some earned my respect and some didn't Shocked

The story that started this topic is shocking to see Police behaving in this manner and they appear to use excessive force but the guy was no angel - why speed away from a car with flashing lights Rolling Eyes

At the end of the day somebody has to do the job or there would be anarchy but hopefully the ones that get carried away are disciplined or retrained Thumbs Up

The press do have a habit of focussing on the parts of a story that get the best ratings Whistle Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

you have to remember that the bobbies deal with the scum of the planet, the crappy judges, and then mess of a system work in day in day out, normaly if your civil then they are ok. and because of the camera culture most are teffifiednof saying something wrong in case its filmed.

sure there are bad ones, but everyone who thinks the police in the uk are bad should try any other country, ours are puppies compared. If you took some fog and put it in a jar, would it be missed.

I often drive home late from work and get stopped just because it's late and LR's are a prime target for theft. The last time I was collared was at a petrol station by a plain clothes PC who was just checking that the V8 Defender was mine. No problem Officer, thank you for checking. Gentlemanly behaviour all-round. Puts the blood pressure up a bit but at least they are looking out for me.

Having had one Defender stolen and my RRS broken into I am in favour of this sort of Policing. I am always polite and I am without exception treated very well.

A difficult job well done. Thumbs Up Allan
