2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey
Retaxing on-line

In the mail this morning is an invite to re-tax the Sport online. Has anybody else done this, does it work? How do they know that you are insured? BTW after the 4x4 tax in the budget they still only want £195 License Fee for the TDV6.

Also the reminder for my Defender came through last week (due to bad organisation I have managed to get both cars to be taxed in the same month but that will soon be cured!) but no invite to re-tax that online. Would this be because it is more than 3 years old and they need to see the MOT cert? 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Tim, I've done it a couple of times and I think VA did it not long ago.

It's really easy and I think the DVLA will have access to insurance databases as do the Police when they do PNC's at the roadside.

I suppose the DVLA will also have access to a MOT database too.

Your disc will show up within 5 working days. Thumbs Up Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad

Done.................... that is so much better than queuing up with the great unwashed for an age.

Now to go and stand with the great unwashed for an age and re-tax my Defender! Crying or Very sad
The reason I cannot do the Def online is that my MOT certificate is not one of the newstyle computer generated ones 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

The extra "gas guzzler tax", up to £215 from memory, is for those cars registered after budget day - like mine! The extra is about the price of a couple of pizzas from Dominos so I'm not worried. Will skip the monthly takeaway & be back on track.

Derek, this is a much discussed point on here.

The extra they charge is not going top deter anyone who has the money to buy a £40-£60k 4x4.

A completely pointless exercise that the Govt. feel makes them look like they are doing their bit but anyone with a modicum of nouce will see straight through it.

Not that potato skin shoe wearing tree huggers have any common sense! Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad

United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 SE Arctic Frost

The big gain for the government was not the "supertax" on 4 x 4's and 'Gaz guzzlers'. As ST has already pointed out anyone who can afford 40 - 60K for a vehicle isn't going to be put off by an extra £40 in tax.

The government used this as a smoke screen to hide the real money making scheme in the lower emission brackets - The average family fourdoor saloon has been taxed an extra £25. That is the real money generating scheme. Arctic Frost TDV6 SE. Aspen Leather, Cherry Wood, Privacy Glass, PTI, Tow Pack, Mudflaps, Tasmods, a new Fuelflap, a RRSport.co.uk umbrella in the boot & a RRSport.co.uk sticker on the rear glass.
