Hi,

I looked through the instruction manual ( a first ) but I cannot find a clear statement on the maximum carrying capacity of the car.

I am asking as next week I need to load a pallet with a machinery part that weighs 450kg, I had planned to load it with the back seats down and a piece of wood to distribute the load.

Any advice would be much appriciated!

Can't be sure for UK but in OZ the TDV8 has about 440kgs load carrying capacity. 4 passengers and hand carry luggage only. Pretty ridiculous.
At 450kgs in Aussie you would be ok, as long as you a) did not have a passenger and b) you did not crash and have someone ask awkward questions SWMBO owns this car I get to drive occasionally

Can't help but think that a trailer would be a better option...

And the 450kg load capacity would include the driver. So unless you're very light, you'll be exceeding the homologated capacity. Whether it's an issue is for you to decide  2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Agreed but not an option due to time constraints!! Bloody strikes in Italy have blocked everything over here and the success of a large project depends on this delivery!!! just have to take it easy and strap it in well!! RRS TDV8 HSE 2007- JAVA Black/Black interior,

Just thinking....

Your vehicle's curb weight is 2742-2788 kg.
Your vehicle's max gross vehicle weight is 3175 kg.

Would it mean you can carry the difference between GVW and Kerb Weight?
Also the maximum rear axle load is 1710 kg.

You should get more specs in the Technical Specifications page of youe Owner's Manual.  Malaysia Boleh!

Well made it safe and sound! Not only that the car handled it well, you could feel a bit of extra weight in the corners and the braking but it was all in its stride! Also gave me a average consumption of 10.9L/100kms (25.9mpg) at a average speed of 121km/h!

By the way, I wouldn't do it again

anyway..the strap down points wouldnt have held the load if youd had a problem
