United Kingdom 2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Arctic Frost

Hi,

I have a 2005 RRS TDV6 and had it remapped about four/five months ago.

I paid a lot more than that (are you comfortable with the garage that is doing it?) but then I used a top end specialist (or just paid over the odds).

The difference from 2600rpm to max is phenomenal. The car takes off as if it were on fire, overtaking is a breeze and it has more torque than many other vehicles especially when you remember this a car that weighs nearly two and three quarter tons.

If yours had a good service history (mine has 93K) and you are OK with the cambelt being of good quality (I had mine changed at the same time) then go for it.

I certainly recommend it.

ok cool, yes mine has 43k miles on it, just been serviced and has a fsh.

would it keep up with a 3 litre audi q7? i did have one of them but had to get rid of it.

the garage is a local one, and my work pal said he trusts him as hes had his done (opel zafira)

thanks

Hi,

I have to say that I'm no Range Rover Sport expert and all my knowledge is self acquired through reading manuals, surfing this forum and undertaking minor modifications on my car personally.

I can't comment upon the relative performance of a RRS against the cars you mention because I've never driven those. All I would say is that a remap made a hell of a difference to my Range Rover Sport.

As a slight word of caution I'd not be using a tuning garage that does every make of car but that's just my personal preference. I'd go for a specialist with better 4x4 and if possible Range Rover Sport expertise. You've bought a great car but it's a complex beast and as it's 7 years old I'd be looking after it carefully.

You say it's done 43K? On average that's just over 6K a year or 500 miles a month, 125 a week which puts it into the less well used and shorter journey category. Keep it within the specialist 4x4 servicing network if I were you.

Out of interest how many owners has it had on the V5?

2 previous lady owners.

There is no 4x4 specialist around my area!

there are a few garages offering re maps or a tuning place which is close?

£240 Shocked !!! That is cheap!! Baring in mind the specialists charge £450 + alarm bells would ring. But then again are the specialists charging way over the odds?? Let us know if you go ahead and use this firm. Some feed back from a remap of the cheaper kind would be good to hear.
