Engine management light

I know iv mentioned on here before about the light but I left it as it went and never come back but low and behold it's come on again tonight??? What would cause it to keep coming on and off??? There's no codes on the screen.....

It's been on my mates computer and it has come up with egr valve A faulty. He has told me it's better to just fit blanks and remove both, is this a better idea??? As far as I know these are soley for environment issues but driving one of these isn't exactly helping anyway so anyone else just fitted blanks????

Mike, as yours is a 2008 car I don't think blanking is an option for you. The engine management system 07 onwards cannot be blanked, only earlier cars...

It does look like there's no way of doing it without the light staying on!!!, unless I put tape over the light!!!, gutted as wanted to blank saves going through this again in 15000 miles!!!
