What were they thinking?

Now I know we all love the RRS, but that doesn't mean to say that it doesn't come with certain design quirks that leave us all scratching our heads.

I'll start us off with the classic.... why is there no "standard" rear interior light that coems on when the rear doors are opened?

I'm not talking the known issues or faults here I'm talking about stuff that LR configured in a certain way that leaves you thinking .....why Question

Any others? Have i got the busted controller?!?!!?

I blown stop light globe sends the suspension into a hissy fit.

Few manual overrides of electronic decisions. Not an issue in town but absolutely dangerous in hot remote desert regions. eg many electronic issues flop the suspension down on the pump stops even if the pump is OK - will drown the car in water crossings or impossible to drive out of the desert due to no ground clearance.

Volume on stereo dosn't reduce when reverse is selected like on the freelander so that you can hear the parking sensors Embarassed
Perhaps when we have compiled a list, james from LPR could forward this list onto LR to see if they can rectify these simple common sense issues for the next model Thumbs Up

Ady, I think this feature is on MY12, I'm sure the music fades and the beeps can be heard. I'll check tonight and revert Thumbs Up

Mine does: after moving the gear selector to R my hand moves swiftly up to the volume control Rolling with laughter 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

By all accounts the MY12 is better than previous incarnations, but I still wouldn't say it's class leading, Then again, most in-built sat nav systems are no match for the Tomtom/Garmins, its just nice having it all built in.
I know Fiat have teamed up with TomTom for a sat nav solution, anyone know of any others? ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

OK I have one that nobody has remarked about and it really is annoying!

I have a 55plate S/C the only clock in the car on the radio (I know that's been covered) But if that isn't bad enough when you make or receive a phone call (phone connected via the Bluetooth) the damn clock disappears Exclamation Exclamation WHY? So you have no idea what the time is while you on the phone!

'Yes Mr very important customer I'm on my way now and I should be with you at...... er.......about........ummm.....Sorry do you have the time please - only my 60K RRS don't have a DAMN clock that I can see while I'm on the phone!! Doh!!!' Cheers Laurence.
