My iPad life just changed!

I always thought the biggest limiting factor on the iPad was that you couldn't send or compose word docs and also use a PDF creator etc..

And then just browsing on the App store, and there is iWork for only £6.99. Just created a doc and then either email it as a word doc or PDF.....easy!!!

I'm easily pleased!!!

Nick, are you talking about Pages?

I use 'Numbers' a lot on the iPad as it is really good for using with excel files from the client, especially whilst travelling on a plane/in a meeting where it is not possible/appropriate to use a laptop. Only problem I have had so far is a lack of support for conditional formatting, irritating, but not the end of the world.

Was going to get keynote as well then I could use it with powerpoint presentations but found that if you print your presentation to PDF you can then see it in iBooks. Downside being that you don't have any fancy transitions or builds, but that was not so important to me at the time. Thumbs Up

There is no such app called iWork is there? I thought it was iWork on the Mac? You can get Pages, Numbers and Keynote individually for £6.99 but I thought that was it?

+1 to what Gilford said Thumbs Up , that was why I was asking if NickM meant Pages?

I use a mixture of iWork and MS Office on my mac depending on which client and how creative I am feeling.
I have the 'numbers' app on my iPad and its great

Office HD for word and spreadsheets, PDF Reader Pro and Keynote are my top picks along with PS Express for photos and Evernote for writing and storing (cloud) meeting notes which you can then access via iPhone, Mac, or PC Thumbs Up MY2014 RRS Autobiography in Corris Grey, Black contrast roof and Cirrus interior, adaptive lights and side steps.

Gone - 2011 RRS HSE TDV6 Baltic Blue, Ivory/Ebony contrast stitching, Side steps, paddles, iPod/IPhone lead (works just fine with iPhone4), Adaptive lights

Thanks V8V. Just downloaded HD 2. I always carried around my Pro thinking I needed it for more things the iPad couldn't do. Other than rendering, I am nearly there with my iPad. I hope the new iPad 3 has 128 GB!

Thanks guys!

I have just downloaded Office Pro HD as well - looks very good.

I really want a version of Aperture that can handle & edit RAW files from my camera.... and about 256GB of storage for when that happens.

Currently have 8GB ram and 1TB HD in my macbook pro and it can still be a little slow when editing pictures, so am not holding my breath for an iPad app that can manage this.

Can't see an iPAD replacing your MacBook Pro, I just use my iPAD for reviewing pictures and small scale amendments, big bonus with Photo Stream is that they all appear on my MacBook Air and iPhone as well Smile MY2014 RRS Autobiography in Corris Grey, Black contrast roof and Cirrus interior, adaptive lights and side steps.
