Getting back in

OK the time has come to get a new RRS - now I'm very familiar with the pre-facelift RRS but can someone give me a quick must have on the new RRS. One question with the FBH - I note that it's an option for a timed version but I presume it can be done cheaper after getting the car, can you get a phone module to switch it on like you could on the old RRS?

Colours - I probably will go white unless my wife tells me otherwise. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten
2009 Alaska TDV8 - Gone and much missed.

there was a thread running last week regards the 3rd party options, I looked at Bell Autos Control module and remote which comes in at 250 ish and the hardware is already installed in most 10MY > I believe , at least it is in mine. Not heard of a phone module would be interested if there way

Are you looking at MY12 or anything from MY10 onwards?

SDV6 is good but older cars will have TDV8 option.

MY12 8 speed g/box is great and better than older model 6 speed.

MY12 losses the split tailgate but gains a powered option Thumbs Up (when it works!)

The one thing I regret not spec'ing on my MY10 was the heated steering wheel.
It is such a relatively cheap option & on some of the really cold winter mornings
earlier in the year It would have been really nice too have had. If it's not a standard
fit by the time I get my next RRS then I will defo spec it. 2013 Discovery HSE Luxury - 3.0 SDV6 - Santorini Black

Not sure if you've seen this VA, but this summarises quite well what the updates for MY12 are. Thumbs Up

For me, Dual View is on the list of things to spec, and IMHO a must with RSE.

I'm with you with the Remote FBH and heated wheel which are both getting daily use at the moment.

I personally prefer the diamond turned alloys, and would spec them regardless of the fact that they cost more to refurb (as I know you'd not bother refurbing).

Lastly, if you go for the colour combo that I think you'll go for then consider the black headlining..... Very cool indeed, but no good if you're claustrophobic though! Whistle

I'm really glad i went for the Harmon Kardon Logic 7 upgrade. This is by far the best in car sound you can get - its immense. If you can get in a 2012 with the upgrade to hear the difference

I wish i had gone for the dual view, seemed like a gimmick but in hind sight it would of been useful for longer journeys with passengers.

I also went for the upgraded lights that look round corners. I had that on my RS4 and once you have had adaptive lights its difficult to go back.

Happy shopping
