Do all the in-built Sat Navs 2005-2209 show TMC Traffic ? Proud owner of a 2008 TDV8 HSE.....and an Audi A3 2.0T DSG Cab and a Porsche 911 Turbo (Mercedes W208 320 CLK and Mercedes W124 E220 Estate now gone) |

My sc has satnav with TMC. Mine works great, does not always get the best route, but still gets me there, I also like the twin screen option. The TMC earlier this year redirected me around a 2 hour delay on the A1, could not fault it. I have a tom tom (very easy, idiot proof) i dont like the layout, i prefer the map look. I also have a vdo-dayton (siemens) which is not as user friendly as any of the above. In general i dont think the satnav is to bad, just some people like pretty picture satnavs |

If you remove it you will also lose the 4x4 information and off road navigation |

best option I use is Autoroute on a laptop plumbed into a separate GPS receiver. It allows routes to be set at home and modified to take in particular places or nice looking roads.

Trip for christmas- Cornwall to Yorkshire. Sat nav set up at home all ok. Travelled 40mins and then this on screen:- MAP DVD - Read Error. Regained route and position several times then i gave up and put on 4x4 nav screen. Re callibrated with different disc (more later). worked for 5 days no problems and i am over the moon. Trip back all well until sat nav decided to go its own way (about 1hr) and not the way the car was going.Tried to re cal on way (son not me) but no joy , but it stayed on the map screen and did not give the Map error. So i have 2 disc,s. one that came with the car (told by dealer) L/R PT No YIW500200 DENSO PT No 464210-5720 Land Rover 2006 DENSO CORP, 1993-2005 UPDATED BY PRIEVIOUS OWNER?. Land Rover pt No 6H42-10E898-AE DENSO pt No 464110-7560 2009 DENSO CORP 2009-2010 1993-2009 Went up on the 2009/2010 disc and changed to 2006 disc when in yorkshire. Q's Are these disc's L/R OEM? Could the 2006 disc be good and the 2009/10 be copy and corupted the system? The drive and disc become very hot, could this be the problem and the drive is distorting the info on the disc????(bit of a flyer this one) Could i have a bad conection on the GPS reviever at the drive or roof end? OR IS THE RRS SYSTEM JUST C**P Any suggestions (within reason) Happy new year to all my readers Last edited by articworrior on Wed Jan 04 2012 6:48pm. Edited 1 time in total |

I turn the screen off 99% of the time in the car. Sat Nav in mine is 2007 and is just about OK but loads of roads I use are missing. The cost of a new disk is about twice the cost of the TomTom I already had so of little use. |
