Roof rails&cross bars and ski holders

Hi all, I'm going away for ski holidays and I am thinking of getting LR roof rails, cross bars and something that would hold the skis. All that is quite expensive, but I was advised that Halfords offer roof rails and cross bars too. Does anyone have any experience with LR/HalfFords roof equipment.
How does one attach the roof rails to the car? Do they slide in or is it attached with bolts? And I suppose I'll be able to take them off at any time?

Thank you in advance Vadim A.

the round blanked holes on the black runs on the roof are nuts.

the genuine kit gives you runners that go where the black runs on the roof are and bolts into the blanked holes giving you a channel to slide in the roof bars.

Halfrauds version may use just the blanked holes, the genuine rails or some other system Mike

Thank you guys!

I'll have to think which ones to get, either Whispbars or the ones LeedsUnited found.

I'm heading to Austria this Friday or Sat and I am down with flu/cold since yesterday... how typical. Vadim A.

While in Austria, I noticed a lot of cars had Thule cross bars. Never seen that one LeedsUnited. Vadim A.

Not tried them but the alloy racks look really good - at a price!
