Ask them if that is to cover insurance , which I think it will be, then get your ins co to insure the courtesy car! Mine do that and it is also covered in the hands of the garage in the meantime. Remember that landrover dealers are just franchises, and mist have multiple brands( our local one has about 20!) so usually get a pug or Renault , if I am really lucky then I get a 5 year old disco/rrs trade in! Doesn't bother me for the day, but I would feel hard done by if the car was in for a week or so! Cheers Dave MY10 TDV6 SE (debadged ), Santorini Black, Flappy paddles, Privacy Glass, 20" Stormers, Mudflaps! Gone: a comprehensive list of imprezas and a Merc ML AMG |

They've asked me to take my insurance certificate in too so I think the £15 is just for the car. This is Hartwells at Oxford. And I think Hartwells also have a Ford dealership so it'll be interesting to see what they give me. As with you, for a day I don't mind what it is as long it's a reasonable car. Be nice to have an Evoque for the day or a FFRR... I'll let everyone know in a couple of weeks 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders 2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed |

We run a fleet of XF's for our Jaguar customers, and 9 Sports for our Land Rover customers........... To be fair, they are Freelander Sport's, but that's fairly close!

Mines booked in at Ripon LandRover later this month for suspension work So far from this dealer we've had a brand new Freelander HSE, a three year old Astra and an even older Citroën Picasso what next?

MJP, Still in shock........ Mondeo you say???? Can you PM your registration number and give me an idea of when this took place as I'd love to look into it. We have never had any out of brand courtesy cars, therefore if it was an advance booking and you had a Mondeo then I am confused as to what happened. My only guess is that having let you down a second time they may have decided to rent a vehicle to loan to you, or if it was booked in for a fault then they may have been able to get LR to authorise a LRA car which was in the vicinity. It's a bit of a mystery which I'd like to get to the bottom of, as I spec, register, audit and decide when we change any of the 33 courtesy and loan cars that we have (I.e 100% no Mondeo's)!! It is tricky coordinating one customer returning with a loan car ready for the next pre-booked customer, as delays occur due to additional work found during servicing, however if this happens then the natural next port of call is one of our demo fleet (courtesy and demo have separate distinctions on our fleet). So in Summary, I cannot explain why you received a Ford Mondeo (hope it was a long time ago!), and have to say that it must have been a total one-off contigency plan. Let me know, and if it wasn't too long ago I'll be able to bring up the loan form on-line. Mondeo.......... I know it's better than a Fiesta, but it's not the LPR way!! James |

personally I don't choose my cars based on the courtesy car I'm expecting - I judge the dealership by its actions and also will tell them in advance what car I am expecting - sometimes this means I have to wait a few weeks for a car to be available. Point is I never expect any dealer to exceed my expectations

My Sport went into TH White in (Royal) Wootton Bassett for an inspection 2 service plus some other work. They kept the car over the weekend and gave me a D4, also waived the insurance fee too. Have been impressed with them so far. |

That's probably the right way to look at it. I'm only using the dealer because I'm hoping my heated rear screen issue will be covered by the warranty. If it isn't covered, I'll take it to a local indie LR/4x4 specialist to get it sorted - at about half the hourly rate! I'll be taking it to the indie for servicing and non-warranty work anyway. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders 2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed |
