Australia 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 S Rimini Red
Drive line shudder

Hi All. Need some help to find the cause of the shudder that has developed in my 2006 2.7tdi Sport at 115.000 km. The problem is a course shudder that occurs at about 65 to 70 kph under load. It is much more apparent when towing a load or when climbing a steep gradient. My rrs has covered 115.000km. of which about 70% of this distance has been towing our 21ft. 2.7 ton caravan so I suspect this has contributed to this problem. As I do all my own service and repairs any assistance with diagnosis of this problem would be very much appreciated. As our 2012 winter trip is to leave the van at Lakelands and then go to the tip of Cape York and back I need to fix this problem before we go.
Many thanks for any help provided. Garrie

Hi Bodsy Thanks for your post, my problem is not a transmission issue, it feels more like a soft or broken mounting that is allowing a driveline component to become misaligned or out of balance. I am going to have a look at the tailshaft and related mountings. thanks again for your advice.

Your problem seems to be a torque converter one. Double-flush may cure it but for a robust solution, converter must be changed. Hope this helps... One life, live it...
