Mrs T swears by Argos on eBay. They often have returns and refurb electrical goods at a fair chunk less than retail. The kids have had Nintendo DS's recently and the only issue was damaged boxes.

The trouble with Apple products is due to their popularity you struggle to get what some might call a "decent" price on them. Bearing in mind that for the next few months at least anyway the iPad2 is still the latest model and is still selling for £400.

Chris mc - I would be interested at the price on a new one, as you say MSRP that everybody is posting is circa £399, PC World have confused me though £399 from store or £399 + Vat from PC World Business |

Not that I want to do James out of a sale, but it's worth noting that the refurbs from Apple are cosmetically new, have all new accessories and a full year's warranty. The only difference is the plain box, so not quite as nice to receive as a gift (esp. if the retail box can be sold for £265 on eBay!). |

But they want almost same cost of brand new so the choice is an easy one on that issue. |

£359 versus £399; is a pretty box worth £40 to you? I appreciate that its only equivalent to 1/3 of a tank of diesel... |
