iPhone integration RRSMY12

Hi
Has anyone had issues with the iPhone integration with MY12 sport, if I connect my via Bluetooth for the phone and cable for the music (so you get all the folders etc) I get no music, via bluetooth it is fine...but of course get no folders.Iphone is a 4 with the latest updates so ios5. LR are to distance themselves from the problem by saying its an Apple issue

Hi

I've got a MY2011 RRS and use the LR Apple connector with no issues on an iPhone4 updated with IOS5. Although I did go through a period of not always getting the phone directory to bluetooth across to the RRS telephone unit.

Does your iPhone come up on the Entertainment screen at all? I'd suggest going back to your dealer and asking for another cable to try out as I'd suspect that maybe the issue, especially as they charge £25 for it on the premise that they have to license it from Apple!

Good luck. MY2014 RRS Autobiography in Corris Grey, Black contrast roof and Cirrus interior, adaptive lights and side steps.

Gone - 2011 RRS HSE TDV6 Baltic Blue, Ivory/Ebony contrast stitching, Side steps, paddles, iPod/IPhone lead (works just fine with iPhone4), Adaptive lights

Hi

I have a model year 12 autobiography I use an iPod classic attached via a standard apple cable from apple. I tried my iPhone by both cable and Bluetooth and had no issues. It's an iPhone 4s with ios5.

Perhaps if you reset your iPhone. Just guessing though.

Thanks both for your reply,my issue is when connected via cable I hear no music, works fine via bluetooth but of course using that you loose the ability to search for music on the iPhone..... Dealer has been very supportive but LR technical support are trying to fob me of with "its an apple issue", could well be but given its brand new to my mind they need to sort it rater than passing the problem back to me..

Hi

Problem with the cable? Have you got another standard apple cable to try? Also will go out to the car later and have a play to see if I can replicate your problem as we both have my12 and iPhones.

Thanks Josh...I have tried a iPhone 4 and 4s with IOS5 on dealer tried 3gs IOS 4 all same problem if you unplug the cable and plug it back it you get about 2 mins of music then it stops again. Make sure when you test that you have the cable selected you will know because you will able to browse through your music collection

thanks again

Paul

Hi

So iPod classic plugged in whilst phone connected by Bluetooth. No issues with any function ie music playing via the iPod not the phone.

iPod unplugged, iPhone 4s plugged in, no issues. Music for over two mins full browsing.

iPhone unplugged and connected by Bluetooth, music played with no issues for well over two mins. No browsing through playlists via the display though.

iPhone plugged in via standard apple cable Bluetooth off. No issues. Music played and full browsing.

Then I activated Bluetooth whilst music was playing and it all went silent. Pressed my music on the screen and switched to Bluetooth input on the car and music was playing.

This does mean that if iPhone is connected via cable and Bluetooth you can browse playlists etc in connected device mode but have to switch to Bluetooth input to hear the music.

As I said I have a 160gb iPod in the car and only being it out to update. This really works for me. I hope this info helps.

Josh

Hi Josh

Thanks for that..seems that yours is the same as mine..When I speak to LR they say its should work with bluetooth and cable at he same time play music browse which operationally would make sense rather than having to switch between the two all the time..they are due to call me back on Monday i'll keep you posted

Guys

I have a MY11RRS with a 4S and have no issue with the phone and music being used at the same time via the LR cable. but what i do not get is the ability to charge the phone whilst connected. I've tried both the USB and the LR cable but neither with charge my 4S.

Ive just been to the apple store, and they said the charging should be fine, but i've just purchased an in car charger for the iPhone 4 to help get round the issue. Such a pain having to have two cables connected.

Having the same problem with MY 12 and 4S. It keeps wanting to stream over Bluetooth rather than continue to send music via cable. Only solution is to let it do it once and go into Bluetooth menu and select change device and deselect it, doesn't do it again for rest of the journey.

Very annoying. Current: MY 12 HSE Autobiography Kit
Gone: MY10 HSE Rear Ent/Park Heating

Thanks all for the feedback looks like LR have issues in both MY11 & 12, still waiting on a response LR but to be honest what's annoying me most is the immediate response "it's an apple issue and all I had to do was disconnect and reconnect the cable"..which by the way does not work either, well least for any more that 3 mins And then trying to close the case and asking if I could speak to an independent specialist to see what they thought

After lots of discussion with both my dealer and LR customer services we have come from its and Apple issue and their is nothing they can do to its now under investigation by LR, seems the issue is across the Disco, Sport and Evoque Range...where this will end is anyone's guess!!!!

Hey everyone, just wanted to chime in and say this is definitely an Apple issue. People are having trouble with it in all sorts of cars. There is a lengthy thread on the Apple support forums where Volvo owners are complaining of the same issue.

Don't mean to thread hijack but can anyone tell me where the additional 3 speakers are in the 17 speaker 825 watt system? Any definitive way of knowing what system you have? I just count 14 like in the 2011's but the premium 17 speaker system is on my spec sheet.
