American spec sports tend to have suspension problems due to the heat in the UAE. Make sure if you get it wrapped that its 3M that they use, as other tend to not last as long due to the weather conditions etc in DXB. |

That's true Foxy but its just not for me. White and black RR's are 10 a penny out here and it is a little 'different' but I bought it purely on condition and ultra low kms, they've all been hammered to death out here. 4 summers from new and if you park outside it would be almost a write off in the UK... Headlights go yellow, paint goes matte (which isn't that bad for free ) interiors are all cracked and they have galactic miles + not many people look after their cars here - mainly just the expats! I looked at 2 believe me or not - with full sheepskin carpets hahaha... This was the only original - clean example I could find. Ok, Foxy you've helped me on my quest for peace with my colour - white it is! Maybe.... |

Yep, your right Joe. My X5 has been a nightmare. The Airbags on the Air set-up get hairline fractures and quick. My new SC hasn't even so much as a cracked CV boot, its been kept garaged near on its whole life. In terms of the Wrapping, there's a company called gulf foil here who claim 5 year warranty and give you 2 additional panels for free in the first year should you need it. 3M aren't in this market yet for wrapping I don't think.. I'll take some pics from their photo album, their are some right piles of crap they've produced taste wise.. Be good for that thread on here 'what's the worst range rover you've ever seen' I'm waiting for them to finish a current one so I can see the standard of the finishing before I blow 2k on getting it done. |

You should be fine if you select assess height just before stopping (you will soon get in the habit) or at the very least in neutral without applying any brakes. Newer models are fine but older ones can get knackered if you do it a lot whilst stationary. The wheelbase extends very, very slightly and if the wheels are locked by the brakes or being in park then the suspension is put under increasing strain. It was fixed in MY09 or MY10. Hope that makes sense and helps. Enjoy your motor. Be different, keep the colour, much nicer than boring (read common) black, in my opinion. Richard |

Thanks Richard, that makes total sense. I'd be keen to know what fix LR on the MY09-10 just out of curiosity. These set-ups have been temperamental for years to say the least. Nevertheless great advice matey |

That explains why its double the price of gulf film then Joe - You know what its like here everything is stupidly expensive apart from fuel. How much did they charge you for the GTR? How easy was it to maintain? and what was their finishing like? & lastly how long did it take. Sorry for all the questions I just don't know anyone who's had it done here. |

I only had the GTR a short while and it came with only the roof, front splitter, mirrors and spoiler done souds terrible but did look really good that was i carbon fibre. It was easy maintained just cant polish it or use a clay ar on it, some of the bright colours do tend to fade after a while though. A think for a full wrap on a sport your looking at 2 days. A have heard if you get it done in sharjah its alot cheaper depends if you can be botherd with the hassle of going all the way there too far for me from where I live. |
