I popped down to my favourite dealership yesterday to get some new number plate covers, and looked over the new Evoque they had on the showroom floor. The vehicle was reasonably optioned up, TV etc and was $17K (about 11 thousand squids to my fellow brits) more than my Sport On Road costs a mere $119K sir that's about 75 thousand pound..

That is a seriously over inflated price for a baby SUV in the local market me thinks, but no doubt the slightly cheaper variants will still sell like hot cakes Another Pommie Bar Steward down under

was in my local LR dealer yesterday too - he told me they had sold 74 Evoque's since launch - all of them at full book price - LR are definitely in good shape I think

Likewise in OZ Kaine, i think the backlog is until at least May(ish). I assume not many are the 75K GBP variants, then maybe they are  Another Pommie Bar Steward down under

I saw the same on Carsales last week, they're all in that price range! Anyone who buys an Evoque at that price must be mad...ore desperate... Partic when LR are advertising RRS 2011 runouts 'from $99,995' in the press..

Went into Melbourne LR last week, they'd had the Evoque's for a couple of weeks apparently, certainly a bundle of them littering the car park anyway.

It did make me chuckle when 2 potential customers went to try it, they fitted the 'demographic' my old dealer back in Cardiff mentioned perfectly. 2 blokes, one wearing a tight vest, the other a tight white t-shirt.  Ex-G4 Challenge RRS HSE, BV55 YZE. Subtle shade of orange ! Now registered YZE481 G4RRS in Melbourne.

Evoque Pure starts at 27.999 GBP and the top of the range Dynamic at 39,999 GBP.

Think a dynamic with everything is circa 50k GBP, order placed at the moment in the uk is July for delivery, think mostly the demand has came from the entry level Prue models attracting people into the Range Rover brand , i ordered a dynamic a year ago but ended up passing it on this month and going for a 2010 RRS.

50K UK is approx 80K Australian , so they are loading nearly 50%, and I do not think that is tax, just LR making a buck or quite a few thousand bucks
