Hi Foxy, Really sorry to hear about the problems with your car and more so the fact that you feel intimidated and bullied by your dealer... That is simply unforgivable! Although I have had some problems with each of the RRS's I've owned thehave always been superbly dealt with by my dealer (Town & County Aberdeen) and I think this is the crux of your issue, It's the dealer that's the real problem. I think the advice to contact LR directly at as high a level as you can is the correct advice. I would also contact the Office of Fair trading immediately as they will take a note of everything that has happened so far and will open a case file. This will then allow you to update them as you progress rather than having to remember everything at a later date. If you really want to stick it to your dealer, there is always BBC Watchdog..... The power of having an issue raised on National Television which then results in other complaints streaming in is not to be underestimated! Good luck & try not to let this get you down. +1 what Endjin says.

Make a quiet nuisance of yourself as well as cranking up the legals - local newspaper for example (stay off page 3!). Im sure the dealership wouldnt want to read about the way they have handled this in the weekly rag.

Best of luck and most importantly dont take any crap from them - keep at it! FF 4.4 V8 Soooo looking forward to this bad boy

I agree with Endjin; Intimidation and poor basic manners are unacceptable. The dealership needs to sort out this sort of arrogance. There is a saying that employees copy their managers so it may be endmic.; all the more reason for LR to send in a senior manager to sort out the bad name that dealership, by its methods, is giving to the LR Marque.

I had similar issues with a salesman that said a RR Sport was "out of my league" when negotiating prices/spec. I went south to Stratstones and had what I wanted transported up at the real price a week later. His face was a peach when I rolled up for warranty work - Id have loved to have seen his face when the DP got hold of him after I had explained to him why Id bought elsewhere!

Can we not help Foxy by swamping the dealerhip with requests that they treat her and others correctly or is it best waiting for result in due course? Its just so abhorrant that she has been made to feel so ill over this!!! Now - MY11 RRS Autobiography TDV6, Orkney gray, tints, steps, daylight running lamps and allllll the toys!!!

England 2011 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Siberian Silver

Well, Thank you all for your replies. Ive just had a meeting with my brief.

I feel completely and utterly recharged on the matter. He has just won (on Monday this week) a case which was almost identical to mine with Renault. He said that he is now about to draft a letter up to the dealership and that this letter will prompt them to re evaluate how they are handling my case immediately.

He also told me that because of the value of my claim it will not go to small claims but county court, and that he works with a broadsheet newspaper, (his chambers are in central london). He said that he is almost sure that they would run a feature of not just the dealership but the brand as a whole. I already have a magazine that approached me, so it looks like Im going to be able to share my story to the nation. Well, anyone that will want to listen ha !

Stuart, i really dont want any dealings with the dealership now, personally I feel its gone too far for that. I think that Id like to keep it legal and civilised. Because when and if this goes to court Id like it to be about how ive been patiant and understanding and how I AM THE RETAIL VICTIM. If anything, Id like to arrange a trip to head office at coventry and block off the exit with all disgruntled car owners, but I fear I could be dreaming this would ever happen.

Thanks

Foxy ! x Smile

Australia 2010 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Java Black

Foxy

I was "assisted" into a new car by LR Australia after having serious issues with an 8 month old 6000 mile car. In my experience, at least here in Australia, any resolution will necessarily involve both JLR and the dealer. JLR does not have pool of either money or new cars to deal with this type of complaint. It will be JLR's influence and assistance to the dealer which will resolve the issue. A full refund would be extremely difficult.

What I can confirm though is that the threat of bad publicity really changed the course of the resolution of my issues so I would suggest that you and your brief pursue that line (I am sure he is well aware of this). It does seem that bad publicity is something that both dealers and JLR are keen to avoid.

Good luck.

good news mate

If it snot too much hassle any chance you can quickly summarise the background as it would be good to know what issues you have faced during ownership.

Build a website about your car and dealership problems and get someone who is handy with SEO to get the website to come up above the dealership whenever someone searches for Land rover in that town and area of the country, that will soon give then the hump.

Failing that get yourself on telly and speak to BBC Watchdog. 2017 Range Rover Sport Autobiography

Hi Foxy
It really saddens me to hear that is having such a devastating affect on you it really is disgraceful.
I think you are right to distance yourself from the situation now just let your brief work his magic on them.
The thing that never ceases to amaze me is how little JLR think of us as customers when things go wrong.
As you know by your visit with me my issues also mainly fell on deaf ears despite the fact that just like you I have been a loyal long term LR customer ,this is my 3rd !!
I hope you can keep your chin up and although I really do know how hard it is don't take it personally they aren't worth it,you will have your day I'm sure.
Keep us informed as much as you can without prejudicing your case and if you do need a bit of moral support just let me know.
Best wishes

Not good news. The whole "refusal" area and "rejection" process is a very grey area and is a legal minefield, but if you believe you have a case, stick to your guns.

There is no sugar coating this, if you are somewhat susceptible to stress and an emotive person, it will be a real hard battle, pure and simple, I guess its a question of principles, values and perhaps more importantly health which if any of the prior kick in will take its toll in some way shape or form, it will sometimes get ugly and you will undoubtedly feel like throwing the towel in (as most consumer product providers hope).

I went the refusal route (on a used car) from the bavarian wallies who supplied me with a supposedly "top of the range" 750i Sport that was in the garage for 4 months......not to put too fine a point on it, I used a friend who is in Pump Chambers, London (top lawyers who typically charge £10k an hour Shocked ) who and even with his wording conundrums, failed to get an acceptable outcome for me, mainly because it was used!

You are in a much stronger position, good luck Thumbs Up L322 Big Daddy SUPERCHARGED 5.0 Autobiography - Here & Now!
