All black is just to hot for Queensland. Many question having a black car... just crank up the A/c! |

Sorry but this is not always true! As many people on here know I had both of my RRS on short term leases, the first for 6 months and the second for 9 months. During that time I had to insure them etc but I have no connection with Land Rover or any other motor related trade. The company that leased them to me also provided cars to accident exchange etc. I was particularly attached to the TDV8 I had so after it went back I tried to buy it by watching the approved used site. I found it at a dealer and when I enquired about the car that I had had from new I was told it was a 'ex Land Rover Management car' and registered to Land Rover from new. It seems they did have a surplus of MY10 TDV8 cars so gave them to short term hire/lease/accident exchange companies. To be honest I don't think its the dealers fault. Land Rover UK are keeping the cars registered to them but leasing them out. The dealers don't know anything about their history other than who they were registered to, Land Rover UK, and the fact they bought them at a closed auction. A lot of cars termed Land Rover Mgt by dealers are not even registered by Land Rover as first owner but a number of Vehicle Mgt Companies .. you can spot them as a whole batch of them will have similar reg plates ( DE, AK are examples I've seen in the past) ..... if they have been registered by LR they tend to have Brum (Solihul) or Oxford (Gaydon) Regs (although they could just be registed by a private individual in that area).

My previous RRS TDV6 that I have just sold, was a year old when I bought it (AK 59 plate) and was owned from new by LR Lease Hire and had done 3,700 miles. When I came to replace it recently I looked at a TDV8 at Stratstones Cheltenham previously owned by a company registered to an address in Kensington London, that apparently used the vehicle as a kind of courtesy car (21k miles). My current TDV8 is a year old ex-LR UK owned vehicle.
