Main instrument lights

My year old (Sep 2010) RRS TDV8 has very bright main instruments lights Cool (the white light speedo and RPM instruments) that do not respond to the instrument light dimmer switch. They seem much brighter that in my previous RRS in fact at night they are too bright. Has anyone else found this and is there a way of adjusting the light levels down?

Cheers!

I know what you mean Cool

I have not found a way to dim dials either Sad

I find the sat nav screen bright at night too - my garmin dims automatically at night and I wish the RRS would Big Cry Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

On my Sport there is a sensor near the radio on/off button on the dash,if you put your finger over it in daylight the
rev counter, speedo and sat nav dim with the lights switched off.
At night, with lights on the dimmer switch dims all instruments including rev counter, speedo and sat nav to the point
where they are only just visible, I set the dimmer switch to mid way for comfort. SAME S**T DIFFERENT DAY

thanks guys, i'll check the sensor out tomorrow; otherwise it'll be another task-ette for the dealer.
