United States 2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Java Black
Transmission Fault & HDC Unavailable

Hello All,
I am having problems with my 06 RRS S/C as when I turn my truck on and press the brake to switch from park to drive I receive a "transmission fault & HDC unavailable" on my dashboard and the traction light and brake light come on and stay on. After a short drive I receive a "Suspension Normal Height Only" message as well. Now my dashboard looks like a Christmas tree, before I take it into LRD i would like some input on what can be causing these problems. I don't mind paying for a qualified technician to diagnose my truck, however I don't want to authorize repairs that will not fix my problem. Any help is very much appreciated. Truck currently has 39k and is out of warranty, I did however purchase an extended warranty, will LRD accept these types of third party warranties?

I refer to mine as "the truck" at times. Or "the Sport". Or "the Rangie". Depends on the audience Smile

She even has a nickname but I shalln't share that on here... Wink Whistle 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Problem sorted!

It was a build up of static in the cars circuits.

My freind who is a RAC man came round. Removed both terminals off the battery and connected both the terminals directly together. He left them connected together for 10 mins to clear the static in the system then connected it all back up and the problem is gone!

Nice easy free fix Thumbs Up

So my Rover had 2 problems, 1 a faulty brake switch causing the brake light and traction light to come on so switch was replaced. 2 my compressor was going out therefor I had it rebuilt versus buying a new one. Its been 2 days since I picked up my rover and its running great...
