2010 TDV8 Starting problem

First hiccup with car after two years & 25k Basically starting has become un-reliable.
Usual engage park, foot on brake, push start button there's a click and nothing.... Keep running
through the process and all of a sudden she'll fire as normal. It's with the dealer at the mo and they say they
can find nothing... To me it's a connection issue, earthing or power supply to starter. Have tightened up
battery connections (what a shyte design!!!) with no effect. Anyone else suffered this problem or know a fix?
Tis the wife's car, problem is, she's reluctant to use it as is...
Thanks in hope Smile

It's a known issue with the TDV8 mate, it needs a new started motor. It happened to mine too, I'd just get the click first time trying to start it but it got worse and worse. There are a couple of threads about it on here. WINNER - 2009 ‘Just Doing What It’s Designed To Do’ Award

My dealer knew about it straight away when I described the problem. WINNER - 2009 ‘Just Doing What It’s Designed To Do’ Award

I ignored it for ages until it got worse! The new starter motor resolved it and it started first time every time. WINNER - 2009 ‘Just Doing What It’s Designed To Do’ Award

I noticed this last night for the first time with my 2010 TDV8, and again today. Frst time I thought maybe i hadn't pressed the starter for long enough; silence lots of lights and a 'click'. Seems to fire up second time tho' Rolling Eyes

This is the first time I have ever experienced this after owning three other RRS's. (Chinese starter motors?? Evil or Very Mad )
