Shooting man myself posted this pick in another thread.

But yes you are right 19" AT grabbers best choice IMHO. Sloppy mud is worse than snow and still copes well.

Best bit is they are so good on tarmac too. Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Are they ATs or AT2s

Anyone been able to source 255/50 19 Grabber AT ? Can get /55 ratio locally but not /50.

Also, anyone running the /55 - any problems with the taller sidewall? Presumably the change in speedo reading is minimal etc.?

Thanks. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Excellent prices too, just phoned but need to come up with a plan over wheels first.

For what its worth Mrs Nutt and I used the new AT's on our Freelander2 on the H4H 2013 Euro Rally and never once ran out of grip..... Ground clearance yes, often but not grip.

Very pleasant to use as a road tyre, and looked like they'd be effective in snow too

was off roading the weekend with JimmySalsa and about 27 D3/D4's in the Lithgow state forest area, the Grabber lasted
approximately 3 hours before the sidewalls got sliced to pieces by some sharp rocks Censored .. need to find something

The problem is that no one seems to make a decent off road tyre in 255/50/19. The Goodyear Duratrac might be tougher but it's 255/55. The Pirelli Scorpion ATR is pretty tough (lots of D3/4 drivers swear by them) but again they're 255/55. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

I have 255/55/R19 general grabber AT's on my disco3 and are very pleased with them. Haven't been off road since fitting them, except for caravan and muddy fields, but are no worse on road than the (worn) scorpions they replaced. Very slight 'hum' if you listen for it though due to the more aggressive tread profile.

I have Grabber ATs on my RRS and they are very good off road. The noise gets worse as they wear - mine now howl at about 30mph and again at about 60-70mph - which is annoying given how often we sit at those speeds in the UK! Not sure whether to go for Cooper LTZ or back to the Pirelli ATR again. Quite fancy some Duratracs but most of my use at the moment is road so they might be a bit too off-road oriented. They might be a choice for a second set later in the year as a winter tyre though... 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

the problem in OZ is that some of the off road work requires a LT Tyre, something that can take a bit
of damage and abuse when having to navigate rocky tracks where there is a likelihood of puncture..

Typically only available in 18" not 19

4 weeks ago off roading with JimmySalsa and another 2 AT side walls went, had to limp out on the
rim until LR met me on a flat bed and got it back to the hotel in the Hunter Valley. so in 2 trips i
have managed to kill 3 grabbers, whereas only killed one tyre in 9 years before (and that was a
standard Conti Laughing ) they are pretty weak on the side..

this is what is left after deflation and a bit of cross country exit work Laughing
