Kevin, this is something I asked a while ago. With driving our RRS to Cyprus late summer (Did I mention.......OK, OK I'll get on with it...Jeez!..).

Let's not forget there's a world of difference between copying the DVD and magically making it know all about speed cameras If the current software doesn't support speed camera locations and internet-updating, it's game over. Without the car having any way to access the internet, you'll never be able to upgrade it in place anyway...

Yes indeed SuperT, you did mention you were off to Cyprus - not a bad move at all if I may say so. I know even TomTom now have a map covering Serbia-Montenegro as do Garmin. I've just checked out the Tele Atlas website which has a link to its own shop www.navshop.com If you follow the thread for in-car systems and pick Land Rover it will indicate that for both the Range Rover (full size) and the Discovery 3, the system is VDO Dayton - but no east europe coverage. RRS TDV6 (gone)

MDP, please let us know how you fare with Land Rover...... in any event it would be good to be able to access updates as and when they are released RRS TDV6 (gone)

Having finally bothered to look in the manual its clear the software is by Navteq I will email them as well " WITH MORE EXTRAS THAN A HOLLYWOOD EPIC " |

Am I right in thinking that Navteq only supply the map data? They don't actually provide the interface to it and the software that interprets the data do they?
