Koni or Bilstein Shocks

Has anyone fitted Bilstiens or Koni's to their RRS? Koni list a shock for the Disco 3/4 with air suspension that looks like it will fit. Anyone tried? SWMBO owns this car I get to drive occasionally Smile

Australia 2005 Range Rover Sport 4.4 V8 HSE Tangiers Orange

Have a look on www.aulro.com, someone's just put Koni FSD's on their D3 there, seems a happy camper.

I'm looking at Billies or Konis at the moment for mine, seen a few negative reports with the Bilsteins though, failures of the front dampers after a very short space of time. Ex-G4 Challenge RRS HSE, BV55 YZE. Subtle shade of orange ! Now registered YZE481 G4RRS in Melbourne.

Thanks. I like Konis have fitted them to a few cars over the years, always with good results. The fitting instructions on for the FSD's is very complete, show's how to dismantle the air bag/shock etc, even shows LR replacement seal kit etc. You could do it yourself with care and some tools.
I don't need them just yet, but as the car should be with us for a while, bet that I will need them in the future. SWMBO owns this car I get to drive occasionally Smile

United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Santorini Black

I have had 5 out of 6 Koni's fail on my E-Type - two lasted 5,000 miles, two lasted 15,000 miles and one managed to make it through to 35,000. Quality seems to have dropped off markedly in the last 10 years and given the E-Type weighs less than half that of a RRS I would be reluctant to fit them. '10 Range Rover Sport TDV8

and billsteins have not "gone the distance" on the Merc G-wagens that recently crossed the canning stock route.

So what is the alternative? my10D4se3Ltdv6 current

Stick to OEM - they're perfect for the car and they _will_ "go the distance"

Thanks for feedback. Pity to hear the quality has dropped, when time comes will stick with OEM's.
