Foxy thanks for your offer of under the counter stuff Whistle Laughing

Get yourself in Yo Sushi in the Trafford Centre, one of my faves.

Update: So I got a bag full of drugs from the doctor and took what was prescribed and according to Mrs JF I was not quite 'with it' and talking a bit of gibberish (which I normally do anyway Laughing )

Wake up this morning and the paid is 80% improved......but is it just being covered up or is it getting better?

Can't continue with those pills today if they take away my "A game".

Moving furniture does not cause a hernia, especially not when no back complaints hystory excisted before.

Your spine got irritated by a wrong movement, and your muscles are trying to prevent further damage by blocking the whole column.

These cramped muscles are the cause of your pain.

Take 600 mg ibuprofen to remove the pain.

Heat is also a good relaxant for you mussles, electric blanket for example.

This way you muscles will start to relax again, and the pain goes away.

Try to move as you do normally, but extra walking is always good for the spine.

If you have a pool, swimming is the best recovery and future prevention!!!

Start practising your abdominals when feeling better, since the lack of strong mussle corsett around your spine is the start of this problem.

If all this does not help you, when in Singapore, try a back massage with happy ending!!!!! Mr. Green

Thumbs Up

Some very good stuff there SW!

A pool? No. Laughing A gym membership, yes Thumbs Up

Whatever you do, be careful. Eight operations, metal bolts, bone transplants, Plaster casts and I am still not better. Look after it and do as the Doctor or Consultant advises!

Careful on the pills - remember that pain is the bodies' alarm to tell us we're doing something wrong - if you're masking or dulling this by taking pills then you could be doing more harm than good without realising.

It's not a good idea to treat the symptoms alone - my advice would be to look at the cause. I agree with SW for what it's worth, that it's highly likely that the muscles have gone into spasm to protect you somewhat and that's causing the pain.

A good osteo will firstly take a look at your posture now, to see how you are compensating, usually before they do anything. They will then often proceed cautiously slowly undoing the knots and giving advice on how to prevent further strain in future.

Think about it Jonny - if the tracking was out on yr sport, you wouldn't simply keep replacing the tyres now would you....... Question Have i got the busted controller?!?!!?

Very good point! And the doc didn't fill me with confidence as she didn't even feel my back at any point.

I think a doctors way to deal with pain is to supply pain killers, especially for backs and such like, In the past i have tried osteopaths, putting their electronic massager and electric shock things (like a TENNS machine) to free the spasm in the muscle due the the muscle trying to protect the injury.

Get yourself to a chiropractor, mine charged £60 for the first visit (£28 thereafter) and this was the best sixty I have spent as i got instant improvements, if it doesn't help then at least you have tried and if it does then Singapore won't be spoiled

my osteo never did any of that tenns cobblers, just proper massage on muscles linked to the problem area, but not the area iself; loosen everything else off and the back can free up and unknot.

think we're talking same thing nick - call it chiro or osteo just my experience is osteo is a little gentler if yr squeamish jonny -but either way maybe just not pain killers

however u do it - hope u get it sorted Thumbs Up Have i got the busted controller?!?!!?
