Airbag red light

People, my airbag light comes and goes!! Question any ideas on why Question before i go to the garage. Thanks

could be a fault on the rotary coupling in the steering wheel. Mine had it just before I traded her in for a FullFat. Luckily the part was under warranty otherwise I would have been looking at paying at least £300 Shocked

The coupling was fine for almost 1 year but then started to bring up the airbag fault intermittently, when connected up to the diagnostic equipment you could see the airbag channel creating an open circuit when rotating the steering wheel - this causes the fault. Key-out reset would clear the fault but it would always come back...

Thanks. with the red light on i take it the airbag would still work?

Erm, no. When the red light is on the airbag that is affected is disabled and should not fire.

Get it checked out ASAP by a dealer or independent specialist

Check the wiring under the seat maybe, known to cause problems such as this.
