Broken down under at 200 miles

My new pride and joy has broken down at under 200 miles, I have been working since I bought it and this is the first chance I have had for a 'proper' drive. Land rover assist tell me they should be here in about two hours, I bet its something simple. 12MY RRS Orkney Grey HSE Lux

I must admit that I just went back to work and left the car to land rover assist, to be honest the chap from land rover was very good and got here in 45 mins, he said that the computer had some sort of hissy fit, a bit like me when it went wrong. He seems to have sorted it now but has left me his name and number just in case it plays up again. I guess I over reacted a bit but after the trouble I had with my first two discoveries I thought here we go again, they broke down so many times I was on first name terms with everyone at land rover assist!

To be fair my last disco 3 was one of the most reliable cars I have owned and our FFRR is an excellent machine.

Only a red triangle on the dash Ady and a message to say that the engine power had be restricted, limp home mode I guess but I would not want to limp far with it, it was so restricted it would hardly pull itself along. 12MY RRS Orkney Grey HSE Lux

tell me about it! (see my other posts about reduced power mode) After a lot of fuss and repeat s/w patch "fix" it was a simple mechanical gate that directs flow between the turbo's. Took 6 months to find this out so you may want to start there Question good luck. (p.s. mine is now fixed and fantastic at 40,000 miles) Thumbs Up My 2010MY RRS 3.0 TDV6SE is Nara Bronze with Almond leather, straight grain walnut trim, 20" 15 spoke alloy's, mood lighting and power fold mirrors Gone

the cable which controls the cooling fan was disconnected in mine causing it to overheat, it never went to official limp home mode but felt like it. Again something simple to check. ============

It hasnt got DPF's has it ????? as they throw soooo many spanners in the works. My XF was in & out of the workshop to have the DPF faults cleared so often that it was a joke so I threw in the towel, I also had the turbo solenoid problem on it a couple of times, the fault would clear at re-start, but give it a kicking and as soon as it wanted the second blower, "computer says no" 08 2.7 RRS "S"

The sport, thankfully, went well yesterday, just over 400 uneventful miles, just two very small complaints, tyre noise from the conti's on the motorway and my road angel cant get a signal through the windscreen, moved it from the middle to the right side where there are no wires and it seems OK now. Oh and I really must spend a bit of time changing the settings on the satnav it drove me mad yesterday.

The only other odd thing was the reaction of other drivers, now I don't think my driving style has changed that much since the disco and I have always been a reasonably fast driver, so why do some seem to need to prove they can go faster and overtake in daft places? I don't think it's just me as my passenger noticed it too, am I alone in this or is it some sort of RRS phenomena? 12MY RRS Orkney Grey HSE Lux

I've noticed people seem more inclined to let me out in into traffic in my RRS, far more so than when I had a BMW.

Haven't witnessed the overtaking phenom yet Question Have i got the busted controller?!?!!?
