Creaking when Lowering/Raising

Just last night I happened to notice that my 2008 Range Rover Sport HSE produced a creaking noise whenever I raised/lowered the car. It isn't audible in the car with windows shut, but is when the window is open. I just purchased it used from a Land Rover dealer last week...they inspected everything prior to purchase and noted nothing of concern in the suspension or other parts.

Any thoughts?

It's normal, most do it. Or when it lowers slightly when you lock it up.....

The creaking was occurring while the RRS was in park/brakes applied...I've been reading some posts that seem to suggest it isn't wise to change to access mode when in park (instead it should be done when in motion)...is there any truth to this? Was the creaking a result of me changing to access mode when in park?

I rarely use access mode and the only time I've heard a creaking noise is when I have used it (to help aged rellies getting /out of the back seats). Most likely it's because the geometery changes with suspension movement and you've effectively locked one end of the car with the park brake. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed
