The time has come!

Somewhat ahead of schedule Ill be ploughing into the RRS market and buying my car before the winter market takes hold! My budget is about 28k give or take and Ive seen a couple of nice cars around the 29.5k mark, looking at 08 plates with <35k miles in Java Black.

Ive done a fair bit of searching locally and of course on Autotrader - I was set on 20' stormer alloys, but I am starting to think they will be an addition after purchase - I just cant find any on a car I want!

Question I have is how likely are Land Rover dealerships to enter into a bit of haggling on price and how much realistically do you think they will be open to negotiating? I'm almost set on getting an approved used one because of the warranty and finance reasons, unless someone can point me in an equally reputable direction? Ive got a few days off the week after next for some serious scouting!

United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Stornoway Grey

I was in the same position as you - definitely wanted a warranty.. I bought from an independent and said that I would not give more than a deposit until he had paid for the LR check so I could get the warranty. Cost him about £200 and with the all clear from LR I was able to purchase the full warranty on a 3.5 year old car with 60k miles on it. If the car is OK, no other independent should have a problem wi that approach.

Hope that helps..

J

Hmm, that's thrown a spanner in the works! That is a very nice car, and on the way back from work! I think i'll pop in tomorrow and have a closer look. Not sure about the exhaust pipes though, always felt they look a bit 'bolted' on when they look like that. Closer inspection will tell.

Lets use this as an example, what would you be looking to pay based on that screen price?

Thanks folks

2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Zermatt Silver

6 month nationwide warranty..Maybe not full L/R warranty with L/R Assist. At that money, for a 2.7 HSE with 46.5k on the clock I'd be checking out a few main dealers - they'll not be that far off pricewise, and you may well get a 12 month all bells and whistles warranty.
