cambelt change

So i need cambelt and tensioners changing phoned a local independent for a price they quoted £505.

On the off chance i phoned stratstone teesside they quoted me £395 Shocked

Car booked in for tommorrow morning.

Also going to buy a hst kit. On ebay for an original kit, their wanting around £2.5! priced parts at dealers just over £2k.

Goes to show that sometimes the dealer is the cheaper option but better as fully aproved than using independent.

A cam belt change for 395 sounds cheap.

Think the first price very good, Dealer price is excellent, standard rate is around £900

i once had Censored tell me a full service was £395. When I collected the vehicle they charged me £505. Fortunately the original call had been recorded, when i played it back to them they gave me the money back. ============

had my cam belt changed at stratstone for about £500 this week, can't believe they have a variable pricing strategy as all jobs are time costed by LR maintenance manual.

Sorry to hear that mate. Although are you sure it wasn't the full 105k service? I only had belts done as filters oil etc.. were done just before i bought car.
