I like the Pirelli Scorpion tyres, mainly because I'm 99.9% on tarmac, wouldn't rate them in snow or even grass Confused

The guy I bought my last set of brand new Pirelli's from charged me £105 each, but he off roads and preferred the Michellin.

I also bought wheels and tyres from this guy, but his in Birmingham.

I've also bought a used very cheap with loads of tread Continetal from RB Rubber in Corby. I asked for a quote for Pirelli's and he gave me a very good price fitted.

So it's horses for courses, I didn't go with the Continetals because of the well documented feathering on the edges.

Pirelli's for me all day long, they've lasted well over 12,000 miles and still have 4-5mm left.

I am running Hankook ST's on mine. I used to have Toyo's on there (previous owner put them on) but they look to have worn quite quick.

There is not much road noise off them and they grip well, they also have the snow symbol on the tyre but could be ice so I'm hoping if we do have some snow they will be ok in that too.

They cost me £105 each for 20" ones.

HTH

Ah thats the only problem.. .I have a mobile tyre guy who comes to my home or work to fit them and he gets them for me...

I could see if he could get me them and then ship them ooop north but you would need to get them fitted which may cancel out any savings...

I've heard good things about Hankooks, but being old school I prefer to stay with Pirelli because they've always been good tyres for me whatever car I've driven. (Probably paying a premium for the name, but I managed to pick up 4 for £155 each, not the £105 I said earlier - List Price is about £300 a piece)

I'd try www.blackcircles.com , never used them but their prices seem ok, and they can arrange to have them sent to a local tyre company and have them fitted.

Hankook Ventus ST RH06 - 275/40 R20 W (106) - £168.13 fitted locally
Pirelli Scorpion Zero Asimmetrico - 275/40 R20 Y (106) - £300.77 fitted locally

My brother-in -law runs these on his 2.7TDV6 Had them for about 2 years now done plenty of miles and still looking good they are certainly wearing very well and evenly. He had no problems in the snow last year!

I need a set of winter tyres for my 20" wheels (I intend to take my 22" off for the winter!) I was thinking of getting the Hankooks I was so impressed with the tread, miles and the way they are wearing!
Thumbs Up Cheers Laurence.
