Decisions guys advice needed please

Ok i recently bought a 2006 RRS hse 2.7tdv6 which has been chipped in java black, full leather sat nav phone bluetooth sunroof car is great in every way BUT im sometimes thinking i should have bought a supercharged, i did come from a 750bhp skyline and im missing the power/noise. Now i know a supercharged wont be nearly as quick but i just feel something is missing in my td. My car is a joy to drive but when the foot is put down the sheer power just isnt close.

My obvious choice for the diesel was better fuel consumption as i did get very bored of having to visit the petrol station, question is is there a massive difference in the petrol supercharged, how does the bhp figures compare. I often use the RRS on coutry/coastal roads and occasionally motorway trips getting 24mpg.

Should i stick with my td or sell and go for supercharged???

Thanks for your advice

Keep the sport and get a toy, you will never be satisfied with a rrs no matter what guise it comes in if your comparing it with 750 bhp GTR

+1 Thumbs Up

Even the new 5ltr SC would not be quick enough, they are cruising machines, not rocket powered roller skates

Not comparing as nothing would really come close just miss the grunt and power wondered if the supercharged had this to offer?

England 2011 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Santorini Black

I would always say get the Supercharged because I have always had them. I only do bout 6 -7000 miles a year so cost of fuel is not a big thing. The first s/c had about 390bhp which I thought was amazing. But I have just bought the new one which has 510bhp and it's totally a different car. If you have come from a skyline the s/c is not going to be any where near that but to go to the tdv6 is one hell of a jump. You have to test drive the s/c to feel the difference but if you start asking about mpg then stick to the diesels. There is alway the tdv8 which is not a bad motor. Oh and this is no offence to anybody this is just my opinion. But I think any range rover sport is the place to be on a long journey. Good luck with decision. Thumbs Up

2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Bonatti Grey

If it helps you, 4.2 S/C travelling London to Aberdeen cruising at 85 gets about 19mpg, and at 75 this increases to 22mpg. In town driving I am getting 16-17mpg.

Its not massively different to the TDV6 in terms of the consumption people talk of, however I am not overly angry with the accelerator...

i am well impressed with my55 supercharged, plenty grunt to keep most idiots at bay, and at 70 mph hitting the gas does give you a good old kick in the pants.

for a couple of tonne mountain climbing machine i think they are very quick, my mates have faster cars but can they climb hills Smile

If you want propel a box weighing over a couple of tonnes it'll take some massive energy - so you'll pay whether is uses diesel or petrol.

M22

I'm in the same situation, I miss my rapid toy.
Bought the RRS for towing my race car, but using it as daily driver at the mo.

I'm currently looking for a BMW 335d for some daily excitement Laughing
