Italy 2010 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Santorini Black
Winter Tyre

I'm looking at my next winter TYRES.

What do you suggest or use on your RRS.

My dealer suggests both Nokian - 275/40 R20 106V WR G2 SUV XL or VREDESTEIN/WINTRAC,4,XTREME/275,40,R20,106,V,XL

Anyone already use this two kinds? How they work?

Ciao.

Just bought Vred Wintrac's. But move quickly if you find any as several Tyre shops told me they were out of stock with no new supplies due before Christmas. They offered Bridgstones (£266), Typhoon (£197) and Avon's (£210) as alternatives. Eventually found the Vred's at Tyremen for £167 each with free delivery. '10 Range Rover Sport TDV8

Something I really want to know...impartially and without all the hype...are the standard 20" wheels really that bad and/or with terrain response?

All the other land rovers ive owned...ok not with 20" wheels/tyres...from the factory on std tyres have been fine all conditions. Mike

Personally I always go for proper winter tyres because I feel they work better in cold temperatures.

It also a question of law and/or insurance.

I also went for the 19" for the winter tyres as this gives me a bit more shoulder to protect the rims '08 RRS TDV8

I'd agree with Flydive.
Ideally a set of 19's with Winters on would be best. But I have a set of 20's with my wintracs on
and they perform brilliantly. But, as Flydive said, the 19's give you a bit more protection of your wheels
due to the deeper shoulder on the tyre. If all you have are 20's then I wouldn't be too worried though. 2013 Discovery HSE Luxury - 3.0 SDV6 - Santorini Black
