Considering Change from Navara to HSE TDV6.. Info Required!

Hi Guys, this is my first post on here and i am looking for some Information from some RRS Owners.

Ive decided to go and change my '07 Navara for an RRS TDV6 HSE and i have the feelers out with some of the Landrover Dealers on here looking for the combination im after. I have a 30k Budget, which from research seems to leave me in the running for an 08/early '09 TDV6 HSE with 40ish k miles.

Looking for Stornaway with black & Silver trim (should be simple enough to find one)

Firstly i wanted to ask Is the Nav & Bluetooth system any use in the HSE ? simple to use and navigate? Can it be used with an Iphone if so is it a drama to get it paired?

Can any form of ipod integration system be added to the standard stereo? even through an Aux port? And does the HSE come with a Single CD or a CD Changer?

Is it worthwhile to have it remapped?

Realistically what are you getting out of it MPG? im seeing about 26mpg Average in the navara for expecting it to be similar?

Sorry about all the Questions in my 1st post, but i know that asking about nav/computer system & MPG the sales men will all tell me its great! but i wanted some honest responses from people who use it on a day to day basis!

Thanks in advance guys!

Iain Thumbs Up

Of course they will tell you it's all great !!! Some cars work Ok with the iphone on blue tooth and some dont !! On some of them theres a usb port to plug into and the mp3 will then be shown on the screen, on lesser cars there may be a 3.5mm jack socket at the back of the centre console to plug into. My first RRS didnt even have this as it is real pov spec ! as for mpg 26 and upwards will cover it, I see 28 urban and 33-34 on a run. They are totally different to the Navara. 08 2.7 RRS "S"
Td5 110......very modified
RS 5
Kawasaki ZX12R Censored me, it's quick !

The nav is shocking on the car, i use tom tom for iphone. bluetooth is great though

Hmm... MPG sounds great there andy but chris reports much worse!! whats going on?

Its a 2008 or 2009 car i will be going for? so should i expect a USB port or Aux port? either is really fine with me! AUX is almost easier although it wont charge the ipod!

When you say MP3 Mode, does the CD changer Play MP3 files burned as data to a CD? I have all the options of an HSE in my Advertura Navara (other than the fridge) and i couldnt do without them now!

Good news about the Bluetooth, something i couldnt do without now, Sat nav is something that i would like but not something i use everyday.. just handy for finding an address once a month!

Really, MPG seems really varied, but im used to 26 in the navara so i shouldnt see a massive difference?

Are you mapped chris?

Are you thinking about ordering one then mate? Or are you waiting for a new model?

When is an All new Range Rover sport due?

Will you go for another TDV6 chris?

2008 - 2009 models without the new dash and led rear lights etc, will have the aux connection. Will play data cds. ( had a bunch of data cds which didn't play on other vehicles but play on my RRS and previous D3). Mpg, 25-26 mpg is more the norm, and that's what I get on my TDV8.
I phone 4 - bluetooth connection superb with me, connects in a couple of secs.
Before you buy, take it for a test drive on a poorly surfaced road, to check for any suspension noises. That I think is Rule No1! Rule 2 - the lower the tyre profile the less magic carpet ride you will have.

Well that would please me.. i would be happy enough with just the Aux connection Very Happy

Does HSE come with Changer or Single CD?

Good points, id likely be looking for one with the 20" wheels? does HSE come with 19's standard?

HSE models could have either 19" or 20"
I have 20" on mine (and they look great) but I have a set of 19" which will go on for the winter.
Autocar this week have a long termer FFRR which they have swapped the 20" wheels for 19s resulting in a marked improvement in ride quality. Most people go the other way for the appearance.
2008-9 models have changer, 2010 models have single cd, as the logic is that more people will use i pods etc instead of cds...
Those wheels are the same type as I have.

I would prefare a changer to be honest, ive got used to it, and i will be have the option of plugging in my ipod, where is the Aux port found?

I read that article this week, I like the looks of the 20's better.. and the jeep will not really be offroad, lanes and fields maybe for abit of shooting and used in the snow in the winter. Im sure the 20's will handle soft roading just fine Smile

Just need to get a rocket up my dealers ass now to get one located for me.. Thumbs Up

Donnellys of Dungannon have an 06 HSE with 45k for £23k but it has the previous 2.7V6 diesel, but looks nice in silver and privacy, plus 20" alloys. Bet it would come at £21.5k...

James Edwards Chester has a TDV8 HSE (wonderful engine) 08 with 35k in Stornoway. £31900 which means £30k, and you could ask them to ship it unaccompanied on the Liverpool boat to Belfast! Or if you fly to Liverpool where I work, I'd be happy to take you there.

I have a TDV8 HSE and it averages 25mpg around town. 26 on a run. The V8 diesel is epic, with a wonderful growl to it. Huge amount of torque.
Quite a few people from NI come over to buy vehicles here, as there's usually a bit more choice/competition.
From JE you should also get a 1 yrs manufacturers warranty as the original 3yr may be up now on that 08 plater.
