2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

It won't get very far off road with the tread pattern on those tyres! I like it but it will be a hard job to improve on the original.
If you visualise it with vertical radiator and windscreen it isn't that far from the Defender of today, and it has to have the sloping radiator to meet pedestrian safety rules 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

The problem is as I see it now is that after the world went mad for the Evoque based on the concept this Donkey will go straight to production !!!! I know all about euro 5-6 emissions and pedestrian safety and the evolving market etc...........Go compare it to the Nissan Cube

Shocked
Almost as ugly as the Toyota FJ Cruiser to which it bears an unfortunate resemblance.
Still, hope it has the reliability of a Jap jeep rather than the model which it replaces.

Scotland 2010 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 SE Santorini Black

I seem to be alone in thinking it looks great!! There are still some design cues from the old one, but brings the car nicely up to date. Let's face it the original was long overdue , the only thing I would like to see on it would be an engine that you can sort in the middle of nowhere and mechanical diffs, unfortunately I presume it will be all electric stuff MY10 TDV6 SE (debadged Wink ), Santorini Black, Flappy paddles, Privacy Glass, 20" Stormers, Mudflaps!

Gone: a comprehensive list of imprezas and a Merc ML AMG

an opinion from the colonies.....

looks to me like a short wheelbase version (RRS CHASSIS?) of a Disco 4 with revised grille and flat roof. Aside from the (show only?) wheels, it looks utilitarian and suited to the purpose of genuine offroad access and adventure. Form follows function, therefore has honest design apeal.

With a bit of luck some other technologies will migrate from the Disco/RRS. Imagine a 3.6/4.4 tdv8 reliable and troublefree version........only dreaming. my10D4se3Ltdv6 current

The bottom one probably will not let water in like the top one, it won't break down so often as the top one and it's galvanised body won't oxidise as quickly as the top one's aluminium body............... BUT we will all love the top one forever whatever it turns out to look like and the bottom one will be forgotten about in 10 years time 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
