Hi All

Whilst rooting around in my mates BMW helping him to rectify a electrical fault Rolling with laughter , I noticed he has a Cradle for his IPhone which integrates it with the car stereo unit allowing complete integration, charging and use of the external aerial. Exclamation
I unclipped it and had a look , and low and behold it has the same electrical connection as my beloved Range Rover Sport Idea , as he wouldnt let me take the cradle to bits to see if it can be modified, I have ordered a new one from BMW to see if it can be altered to fit the RRS, or am I barking up the wrong Tree Question

Does any one know of any issues with the nokia cradles which are supplied from the Stealers????

Once I get the unit I will keeep you informed of the outcome, and If my Brainwave works Question Question
Ok off to the Undiscovered Country.

After looking at what was done on that German site I think the cradle he fitted was just plain ugly and looked like a desperate home grown effort to install an i-Phone.
I went down the route of getting the i-Phone interface from Land Rover and the KUDA dash mount which makes the iPhone installation look like factory fit.
I get to operate all the iPhone functions via the ICE system and steering wheel rocker switches...plus I didn't lose one of my cup holders! Ra-Ro Sport Super Dooper Charged.

Tim.
Sorry I don't have photo bucket account mate but PM me your email and I'll send you pics.

Alternatively take a look at the KUDA website under the Range Rover Sport segment. Unfortunately they don't have pics of the iPhone mount.... but I do & can send them to you.

Pictures are finally added to my gallery....take a look and see what you think.

Just this week my boss gave me a brand new iPhone 4 to replace the 3Gs that I'd been using. At first I was a bit hesitant to take it because I wasn't sure it would fit in the Car Comm pass through cradle...... lo and behold it fits! Because of the iPhone 4's slimmer design the phone is not quite a snug fit as the 3Gs but I can live with that as a freebie!
Everything is still controlled via the steering wheel toggle switches and the handfree, blue tooth etc works in conjunction with the standard Land Rover interface & in-car entertainment system.

This is the only modification that I've done to my car but I think it's by far the most usefull upgrade you can make as an iPhone user.

Regards.

it loos like BMW finally came out with an adapter for the iphone 4 that is made to work with BMW and Mini. Check ebay for multiple sellers on OEM cradles.

Hi

Can I ask you how you connected the phone to the stereo system ?

I have a 2007 RR sport HSE which has the factory bluetooth and the logic 7 system and I would love to get the music from my iPhone to play over the factory system using a cradle similar to yours....

Can you or anyone help ?
