I'm glad you asked that!! Gavin at Lookers Chelmsford took it off sale for me until I made my mind up. I loved the car BUT it didn't have to white stitching in the black leather: blub: And I really wanted that so this morning I called Gavin back and told him I'd always regret it every time I looked in the car if I didn't have it and a car of that cost I think that's going to be a big mistake! Gavin spent some time on the phone with me this morning talking about what I wanted colour spec etc and is now trying to sauce one for me to the exact spec I want! He is also going to find me a 5ltr to test drive as I want to be sure I am making the right choice going over to the TDV8 after getting out my 4.2S/C It really is only a second car for me so the running costs are not really top priority here just the thrill of driving it every time I get a chance! (Oh and detailing it at least twice a week!) Although Gavin did point out that in a few years a 5ltr will not be worth anything like the same car in a TDV8/6 One thing I will say is the flappy paddles are to die for in one of these cars. Ok it turns you (or me anyway) in to a F1 driver but soooooooooo much more fun to drive. For me it was more of a drivers car going down a gear or two on the way in to the bends and coming out a bit quicker with the sound of the V8 giving it the beans out the back!! Also very useful I found to use on approaching a junction using the gears to slow down - all in all great fun! Here the link to it: http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/adv...?logcode=p Cheers Laurence. |

Buster do not try the new supercharged cause if you do you will want one big time. I just sold my HST S/C and I test drove the new S/C and OMG it's amazing. Words can't describe the difference between them. Who wants to be the richest man in the grave yard. So hunting for one. |

Thanks for the reply. I accept things can go wrong and that isn't always the problem it is how people deal with problems once they've been highlighted. Chelmsford seem to have had the proverbial wake up call and they certainly needed it. I've seen a lot of poor feedback about them all over the web. In my own case I realise that I'm looking for something quite specific and I have seen them come up on the LR website but they are usually miles away and sell quickly. So I know it could take a while but I'd like an update now and again even if it is a one line email that an auction is coming up and nothing comes close or even a note of the best match. Time will tell. My mate Percy Verance should help. Richard |

Ady555 Thanks for the PM! Sweetafton, This is almost exactly what Gavin at Lookers Chelmsford told me!! All you've done is convinced me that the 5ltr is the one to go for!! To be honest I have two pushbikes to off set my carbon footprint! I put them in the back of the RRS the other year drove them to Devon. Got them out cycled round a field put them back in the RRS and lost them in the garden shed now behind the spare set of wheels I have for the RRS! Hard work that cycling when you have the best 4x4 by far!! I'll never be rich as long as I have a wife and a RRS!! Let me know how you get on finding one Cheers Laurence. |
