Be very careful, you need to also insure the gap between what your insurer will pay their valuation and what your gap provider thinks it is worth, ie insurer will only pay £30k on total loss, gap provider says it is worth 35k it is £40k to replace therefore the gap will only pay difference between £35k to £40k leaving you to fund the difference, oh and they expect you to argue with your insurer to get a higher valuation. I know all this as through experience and my GAP policy was a Land Rover product, a con at best. |

That's all very well but ensure how they value the cars value against the valuation of your gap insurer, it's not as simple as insurer pays £30k and gap tops it up to value of purchase, they will have different values for the car and you have to pick up the difference!!! |

I have always used www.ala.co.uk, I found them to be cheaper than Kam for equal if not better cover. You can use discount code GAP61 until 31/10/2011 if you want to take a look. WINNER - 2009 ‘Just Doing What It’s Designed To Do’ Award

I always get gap insurance as I always finance the cars and don't want to get caught out. Also I've heard lots of stories of people getting brand new cars having written off their 2-3 year old car.
