Help Please - Speeding Question

Wifey has just received Notice of Prosecution, camera caught her doing 39 in a 30 coming out of Liverpool at 10.35pm, form asks to confirm who was driving, they will then issue details of how they wish to prosecute.

Question is. will it be standard 3 points and £60 or higher or will they offer a speed awareness course, anybody have any ideas?

Many thanks

It's a high probability that it will be points and a fine.

My last 3 sets of points (all gained in the Northwest) have all been fines and points.

I bought a Diesel RRS to slow down!! I keep telling myself 'It's a toy'
But I've broken quite a lot of toys in my time.....

Remember to leave returning the NIP until the very last minute i.e. 2 days before its due back to increase the possibility of a time out. MY2011 HSE Santorini/Ivory/Piano Black/Privacy Glass/TV .Sadly gone.

All - many thanks for the replies, so the general concensus is 3 points and £60, i was worried it may be higher.

Great tips on returning the NIP Thumbs Up

Oh and also remember to ask for the photo specifically to" identify who was driving" that'll Censored them off Thumbs Up
Theres always a chance that will go missing too.
My business partner "alledgedly" knocked a guy off his motorcycle and was up for Undue Care ,the evidence was on video camera and a copy was requested by his defence as that what the CPS was relying on as evidence,on the day of the court case it hadn't appeared so his brief approached the bence and fortunately the rossers had lost it so his case was dismissed and he got all his costs back Thumbs Up

Just checked here she would have had to be doing 50mph to get a court case and possible 6 points

I think I'm right in saying this but please feel free to correct if I've got it wrong! I thought that you could only request the Photo evidence, or for that matter the calibiration certificate for the camera, if you did not accept the Fixed Penalty Offer thus meaning you have requested to go to court. If you do this then the fixed penalty (£3 points + £60) no longer applies and you are at the mercy of the magistrate as to what penalty points & fine can be applied + court costs! If you know you're guilty and you (or your wife in this case) isn't going to end up on 9 points as a result of these 3 points, I don't see the point in taking any risks. Swallow the Points & Fine and move on. 2013 Discovery HSE Luxury - 3.0 SDV6 - Santorini Black

Just to be clear I am not trying to get out of it just what the penalty or other action from the authorities may be.

Didn't think you were mate, That's why I mentioned whether ending up in court was actually worth it. Sorry if it came across the wrong way.... I'm always crap at explaing what I mean in a nice short way! Embarassed 2013 Discovery HSE Luxury - 3.0 SDV6 - Santorini Black

Sorry but that's just not true of course you can ask for the photo before returning the NIP to assist you in naming the driver.
Not suggesting for one minute that you should do anything illegal you just follow the rules so no need to jump down my throat Enjin.
After filling in the NIP this then results in a COFP which is when the alleged offender has a choice what to do next i.e. take the points and fine or take it to court.
Main thing is asking for photos does not stop the clock so you still only have 28 days to respond which should be done on day 26. MY2011 HSE Santorini/Ivory/Piano Black/Privacy Glass/TV .Sadly gone.
