Had my first ever RTA today, got rear ended by a white Transit who couldnt match my talent for emergency braking on damp tarmac !! luckily I was braking like when he hit me so I was braced and saw him coming......the back end was up in the air due to me braking and the flat face of the bumper caught the full weight of the impact, deffo a case of RRS 1 Transit 0.....damage to Sport white paint residue that will polish out and two pea sized scratches, damage to Transit, bumper ripped off, grill exploded and bonnet slam panel pushed back. Damage to me = stiff neck and pulled a muscle in right shoulder 08 2.7 RRS "S"

Yes Will and it was the rear girder that took the brunt..... my Jag would've been a mess after that. It still drives fine but who would be best qualified to inspect for any major damage ??? 08 2.7 RRS "S"

Cheers chaps, dont know what to make of it really, car drives fine, all electrics work, tested the towing leccy's etc, both hatches open and close as per norm, sprayed it with the hose, went under the back with a good torch and can see no obvious joint shakes etc, I have thought about the main dealer route but what qualifies them above me regarding the safety of the vehicle........errrrr not much really, bloody right shoulder hurts like hell mind and I dont hurt easy. 08 2.7 RRS "S"

My first sport was rear ended at 10MPH is that looked like no real damage as tow-ball was fitted , turned out to be a 7K claim , rear floor was twisted so make sure you get a proper inspection. 2014 5.0SC AB

Andy , Hope you are ok this morning. When I was "rear ended" a few years ago in my BMW m5, all I could hear was the noise over and over again. It was horrid !

Andy, Firstly glad that you are relatively unscathed. But, to echo what the others have said. You definately must get the car checked out. From experience, I would also say that Do Not trust the dealer to do this. Tell your insurance company that you insist on a full report from a qualified automotive engineer. It is the only way you will know that everything is ok. The cost will be covered but the other guys insurance anyway. 2013 Discovery HSE Luxury - 3.0 SDV6 - Santorini Black
