Insurance for 20 year old

Hi All,

I'm hoping someone may be able to assist slightly.

I've been getting prices over the past few days for a 57 plate tdv6 hse that the company I work for will be buying for me. Its their first company car so cant do fleet insurance or anything.

I've been given the duty to gather the quoatations. The best price I have is 6.2k with admiral. This is with me as main driver (20 year old, license for 2 years, 0 ncb) and another experienced driver as named. If roles were reversed as I put myself as named driver then the price shoots up or a lot of companies will not insure under 25's as a named driver!

Can anyone at all in a similar boat recommend any other companies that will insure a 20 year old on a rrs?

All help is greatly appreciated.

Censored Thats alot of dosh for them to pay Shocked

Is that policy in company name, you as driver?

Try policy in your name, company as owner, lots of companys don't do it, but there might be a couple out their, try Adrian flux and other brokers

I had my RRSport when i was 22-23 years old, and i have always insured with Privilege/Direct line.
I have never paid over £1200 for my insurance policies.

I think it would probably be a 2010 car unregistered though, I think that's the only way to get a v8 on a 11 plate

Not really a big deal as the new 3 litre is so much better than the 2.7........9 secs 0-60 instead of 12 secs.............

I came from the 2.7 though, people who had a v8 and went to the 3.0V6 will tell you otherwise!

2011 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Santorini Black

My dad has just got a 2011 RRS Commandshift HSE 3.0 Ive called up his insurance company 5 times and each time heard the same thing unfortunantly, I am currently a named driver on his fleet company policy for all of his company vans [As I am only 18, 19 in a couple of months] but not his and another private range rover. It is with dixons commercial insurance and they are insuring through AXA. They wouldn't even give me a price to get me listed as a named driver on all of the cars or even just onto my dads as i won't be driving the other one. They even said it wouldn't be worth it for them to charge £10,000 a year (even though the whole policy with 18 vans (some BRAND new worth 32k) only comes to just over 2 grand!)

nathanh1 would you be able to inlighten me how on earth you managed to do that with such a low price aswell! [I live in central london though, probabaly a massive difference to southampton]

Not to sure told them we would leave if they wouldn't take me on! we have got a decent portfolio of property they love to insure though! then after bragging about how easy i found insurance on here my renewal came up a week later and they said not again ( a 19/20 year old smashed a Ferrari killing 6 and it cost them 6million before court) and they put it on the line to lose our business because they just couldn't take me on again with my convictions and 1 accident in the last year.

Now we have a private broker who is for Aviva - they took me with no problems give them a try, also nfu gave us a price with me still no problems just price was a little steep and have little time to negotiate

So when they said "Not again" they meant they wouldn't insure you again? was that with AXA as thats who my dad is with and they won't even touch me until im 25!

Wow ... killed 6! how on earth did he manage that ...

I've got a clean license and no accidents
