I think there was around 40 cars on show at the event, the talk prior to the drive mentioned £1.4 Million of value on the car park

The Firenze Red one is a Dynamic Plus Coupe with the Si4 engine, panoramic roof and contrast colour roof, at Gleneagles we didn't get to drive it, they only put the SD4's out on the road. Strange that they told you they £1.4 million of cars there because they only had 10 cars at Gleneagles not the 40 you reckon are at York and they were also worth £1.4million! Must be cheaper cars for the English market.......... 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

They know that your not that good at maths up there as 1.4 million divide by 10 makes one hell of a expensive Lr |

Mmmm 40 people at the event and everybody had a car allocated, just guess they thought York more important than Gleneagles |

Just got back from York event. What a brilliant day. Managed to drive Firenze red Dynamic plus coupe with the Si4 engine and every goody imagineable. Had a brilliant run all round York, was last car out so managed to keep stopping, then when the road was clear, gave it a little push.. Well impressed..

Micky would be interesting to hear whether you found any correlation between the evoque and the Freelander. As Ive heard on the Grapevine that you can tell by the drive it definitely belongs in the Range Rover fold is this true and noticeable? |

Sorry, but I'm not the best qualified to answer this, as I don't currently drive either. However, I had a good chat with quite a few current sport and RR owners, they were all suitably impressed with the drive, equipment and ride. Nobody compared it to a Freelander. I have to say it was praise all round today, try and book yourself a place for Manchester this week. Let me know what you think,

If only they would put a proper lump in them and not the taxi motor ! Having seen the real life pictures of them I think they'd be way to small for me anyway, but will keep an eye out for the tour. 08 2.7 RRS "S"

The only thing I found that was Freelander2 like was the raucousness of the 4 pot diesel when asked to work at higher revs. Having been a TDv8 owner for 5 years and used to silky smooth acceleration that came a s bit of a surprise but in all other respects Evoque is deserving of the Range Rover badge.
