United States 2009 Range Rover Sport 4.4 V8 HSE Santorini Black

I had my wheels powder coated and they are bullett proof. No chipping like the factory painted wheels which I had repainted twice and they chipped like crazy. Been 2 years now and they look brand new. Powder coating the only way to go. IMHO. Mike mike murphy

Hmm....that's a bit more positive than all the other responses!

How about when you get new tyres? no problems?

I presume powder coating is powder coating and there is no difference in US vs. UK?

Have you changed tyres in those 2 years?

Seriously, I know quite a bit about powder coating and wheels are not the best substrate for PC!

Leave them as they are, you will regret it if you do it.

Hi Johnny, sorry I posted twice, dam computers. No problem mounting tyres at all. Just make sure to tell guy to use plastic rim mounts for tyres. Mike mike murphy

we have wheels powdercoated every day for customers and its like everything else really. if you find a good one your wheels will be mint, if you dont they will be terrible.

me personally i would say go for it.

Hi Ady,

we use cas coatings and have never had a bad thing to say about them.

the wheels are blasted dried then coated then baked. takes a couple of days and they do a few different finishesetc but ive used them myself for a few bits on my show car an they have been spot on.

A good tyre fitter will have the mount/demount head set a bit further from the rim so that it does'nt catch the rim or they could use rim protectors which i use when changing tyres on alloys.

Andy. Gone,,TDV8 arctic frost,black leather,colour coded handles,rear entertainment,sunroof.
1980 Rolls Royce,shadow 2 in white.
