Well, I've had both. A 3.0 litre S-line Q7, engine was ok, but the car was a little boring. Was way too long with poor vision and seemed cramped inside regarding width and headroom.
The decision to get rid was based on the wife going 30mph skidding on snow and sliding into a curb, front left then rear left wheels. £6000 damage.

The range Rover on the other hand, mine is a 2007 2.7 is a little underpowered but it was a purchase for the wife, not the best built but seems to have a charm about it. A 2010 onwards may be on the cards next.

To be fair everybody is welcome to their own views about cars but it seems to me that many people buy and "BUM" Range Rover Sports purely for the statment it holds! What is wrong with a Q7????? Yes they are not quite the best off road, yes they may not be quite as luxury inside and yes they do not have that statment but christ the 3.0TDI is cheaper to run, cheaper to buy and also faster that its rival 2.7 by a long shot!

In todays climate it makes sence if you ask me!
