Seriously considering

Hi,

I was hoping some of you may help I apologise if my questions seem a bit obvious. I am seriously considering purchasing a Range Rover or Range Rover Sport. But since this is a Sport Forum I had a few questions. I have around 40-45k to spend. I currently have a Lexus GS450h which I would keep the Sport would be replacement for the second car we have a Honda Civic. The GS has been a very good car its fast and a hybrid but its a big rear wheel saloon and due to it being a hybrid it does not have much space in the boot. It has some good features really good sat nav, adaptive cruise control (which is available on the sport) etc which I would want on the Sport.

Mainly want a 4x4 for the winter and carrying ability for long journeys. Plus it has alot more 'vibe' than the Lexus models - more soul you could say. I wish to purchase a used Sport but one that has been facelifted and has the new interior, I think its the 09 model on but could be wrong. I am going to book a couple of test drives first but had a couple of questions I felt that you guys, as owners, would have the best answers for, my main questions where regarding:

1. How is the reliability on them, this is one of my big concerns, the current cars I have are very solid and I have heard of issues with the Range, I have read about some issues on long term tests and the JD power survey has not been that good. I only ask since I am used to trouble free motoring (So far!)
2. Would you guys one again or would you get something else, do you like it.
3. Should I go for a 2-3 year old Range Rover Vogue instead? Would that be more reliable?
4. What are Land Rover dealers like?

Thanks in advance.

England 2011 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Santorini Black

All the questions are on this site and more mate. Have a good search but keep in mind people chat about the problems not all the good stuff. There is loads of good stuff on these cars so good luck. Thumbs Up

Thanks.

Took a test drive of both today. I think I am leaning to the sport. The Vogue was a beast in size although I liked the exterior space inside. Felt like driving a living room!

One thing though was the salesman was reccommending I go for a HSE for the spec I want with the 3.6 engine - on a recent 59 plate - is that cool?

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

TDv8 3.6 HSE was the only option for a long time and then in 2010 for a very limited period you could get a TDv8 Autobiography. It was a fantastic combo but they wore out front bushes rather rapidly. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW
