I have had battery tested by LR and seems fine. Although it is over four years old now.

Has anyone else had a drain on the battery whilst locked and left for 3 days?

Car going back to dealer for the day on Thursday. I am hoping not to cop a huge labour bill while they look for problem   SDV8 vogue SE.

Check the cables/connections and earth first mate. Common cause and often missed ending up costing people a fortune for no reason.

All the connections on the battery are in tip top nick No corrosion and all tight. Not sure where earth is bolted to?  SDV8 vogue SE.

check your upper tailgate relies switch had the same on mine took me 3 weeks of testing to find the problem god knows how much it would have cost in the dealers to find the problem they tend to corrode inside take the outer rubber casing off if its corroded inside thats your problem m8 do a search on the forum battery drain and it will tell you everything you need to know about it

Sure enough once the rubber cover was removed total corrosion evident. New unit fitted by dealer.

Lets hope it cures problem

Car back from dealer. Bill £78. Part was cheaper than E bay item posted I left car at dealers for 36 hours and started with no fuss.

Off on a weeks jolly and will leave car at home.

Let you know next thursday evening if car is cured.

Got back from west country last night after a week away and car started this morning no problem.

Looks like problem solved. I phoned dealer and he was suprised LR hadnt listed the switch as a "Known" problem area!!!
